Gearing Up for Great Fun

March 4th and 5th 2017 will bring to our dance community one of the most anxiously awaited events of the year: the fourth annual Dance Fest. Dance Fest is a low-cost, beginner-friendly dancesport competition where new competitors can see what dancesport is about in a local, friendly environment and spectators will be introduced to our beautiful and athletic spectator-sport. This year's event is sure to be better than ever! With a big and bright new facility at Union Depot, Dance Fest volunteers report that they expect more competitors this year than ever (including more exciting Open level dancers!), as well as competitors from a wider range of states throughout the Midwest!

In addition, Dance Fest exhibits our wonderful local professional talent. Judges from around the Midwest will host dance workshops in various topics throughout the day, and Jana Rose Arts will showcase Dancesport Hair and Makeup creations and demonstrations. These two, fun-packed days will play host to over 20 hours of ballroom dance activity and, while a lot of planning has gone into the event already, a huge amount of time and energy goes into the event day-of. This may include anything from selling tickets at the door to making sure competitors are well-hydrated and ready to dance. We are incredibly grateful for these volunteers' hard work, and we work hard to make sure that they have ample time to dance and cheer for their ballroom friends throughout the weekend.
